Optimizing your content for SEO is fairly simple once you understand the basics. The first step is to start with high quality well written content. Here are few a tips to help you optimize your content for SEO so that it ranks as highly as possible in the search engines.

Insert Keywords

While Google does not permit keyword stuffing, it does not hurt to insert your target keyword phrases into your content. You can do this by including the keyword phrases in the content of your articles very sparingly. In addition, you should optimize the subheaders on the article with variations of the keyword phrase. By doing this you will create an article that appears to be highly relevant to your keyword phrase. Just make sure that the content of the article remains on topic with the keyword phrases that you choose to insert.

Use Header Tags

Using header tags will help Google and the other search engine robots to quickly sort through your content. This will allow your content to rank higher because it is easy to navigate. In addition, header tags make it easier for people to read your content as people usually only spend just a few minutes scanning an article and not reading every word.

Include Links

Linking to other content on your website is a great tip for optimizing your content for SEO. By linking to the other content on your site that is relevant to the article that contains the links, you will provide a way for visitors to naturally explore your site. For SEO purposes, you are doing on-site link building that will help the individual pages of your website to rank higher in the search engines.

Make Sure the Content Is Original

The search engines have always ranked originality at the top of the list for ranking content higher. Make sure that your content is not copied from other places so that your site is the original author of the content for the best SEO results.
