Content is being created and shared at an alarming rate these days mainly because advertisers and publishers see the lead generation that regular content generates. However, quality content marketing can increase visibility, expand your fan base and generate more sales.

If you’re a content marketer and want to make a difference, then the following points are essential for you to understand and utilize in your efforts.

Show Concern

Always keep asking yourself while writing and marketing your content, “Who is going to read this?” This question will always help you create something that will not only be read by the readers, but will also be shared by them. There are ways to create such content and that is, start focusing on your regular customers or regular visitors and read their behavior and liking patterns. Once you hit what they like and what excites them, you will be able to write something that interests them.

Start Helping, Then Selling

Often times companies, writers, and marketers try too hard to sell their audience something. It’s a universal truth that behind every business that there is only one motive—earning revenue and enjoying profits. There are times when a company has to stop focusing on selling and start thinking about helping the reader or user. At this point, a bond starts to develop between the company and their customers. This helps in alleviating the share-ability of the content and increased visibility.

Quality Should Trump Quantity

Flooding your website with content and ignoring the overall quality is not a best practice, and content marketers should avoid doing that at all costs. High quality content has a higher likelihood of being read, liked, and shared by readers on multiple social media platforms.

Don’t Carry It All On your Shoulders

Many companies try to execute as a “one man army” in terms of producing and marketing content, but this isn’t always way the best approach. There are other effective ways to progress in content marketing. Try to invite guest bloggers to post on your site. This will add a different flavor or perspective to your blog and help you grow your audience.

Never Forget to Measure Results:

ROI is scary for those who don’t focus on the aforementioned points, but for those who measure their results and study their analytics, a whole new content marketing experience can arise. Understanding the consumption, share-ability, and lead generation gathered from content marketing can unlock a whole new earning potential that you never thought possible.
