With more and more mobile users worldwide, it seems like everyday there is a new app popping up and making life just that much more convenient. Such is the case with the new mobile engagement marketing platform Smartsy, which allows users to take pictures of objects the want, catalog it, and purchase it down the road. Affectionately referred to as the Shazam of objects, Smartsy has introduced a brand new way to discover, interact, and purchase products from your mobile device.
In a recent interview from ad:tech San Francisco, Arnaud Saint-Paul from Smartsy chats with TheMail about the company’s platform, how it works, who’s currently using it, and what the future holds for the innovative company.

These are some key takeaways from the video:
- Smartsy is a mobile engagement marketing platform that enables users to transform physical objects into interactive assets. In the interview, Arnaud explained his product by saying, “You take a picture of something, it could be cat food or a shoe or anything, and you can share it on a social network, you can collect it, you can also engage with the object and buy it down the road.” Simply put, Smartsy is the Shazam of objects.
- Currently, Smartsy is working with brands to help put their content on the platform and make it easily available for users. Right now, the company has not assembled a database of objects for the app, but it is looking to do that sometime down the road to make it a more inclusive experience.
- Among Smartsy’s current roster of clients are big name brands including L’Oreal, Volkswagen, Red Bull, and are looking to add some Fortune 500 companies to the mix in the near future for worldwide campaigns.
