As an affiliate marketer, blogger, or online publisher, content marketing plays a vital role in the success of your business. Creating and sharing great content allows you to connect with others, cultivate a fan base, and ultimately turn your followers into customers that will help fund your online business.

As content marketing becomes a larger part of your revenue stream, it’s important to know what exactly makes “great content” and understand how you can apply those things to your site. A simple Google search will turn up hundreds of blog posts suggesting various tips and tricks to help you write “quality content,” but there’s one piece of advice that nobody seems to be mentioning.

To be a great content marketer, you have to be a great storyteller.

Of course, not everybody is a natural born storyteller, but that doesn’t mean you can’t practice your skills and become one. We recently came across this infographic from Funders and Founders and thought that the information in it was certainly applicable to content marketers of all varieties. It offers some step-by-step advice on how to tell a great story, which can help you create better content for your audience and generate some more traffic and sales.
