Earlier this week, Digitalbox, a company specializing in performance marketing, received $1m in venture capital funding from a “series of high net worth investors” to help fund the expansion of its native advertising business, Content Click.

Since its launch in early January 2014, Content Click has signed up over 500 publishers and bloggers to use the product, and says that the latest round of funding will be used to finance the expansion of the Content Click service internationally, “notably in territories with large scale blogging networks and niche publishers.”

Content Click offers publishers and bloggers the chance to earn extra revenue by adding a free widget to their site. Installed in minutes via Content Click’s self service online platform, the native advertising widget makes it easy for publishers and bloggers to take advantage of new advertising opportunities without forfeiting the quality of their user experience.


With the widget’s proprietary algorithm, Content Click is able to mine editorial data and model consumer intent and serve up relevant, high quality sponsored content for readers. According to Content Click’s recent press release, “initial results have witnessed CTR’s (click-through-rates) that far exceed advertising industry averages and significantly increase engagement with advertisers’ brands.”

Backed by industry heavyweights including ex-Emap chief, Sir Robin Miller, as Non-Executive Chairman, Digitalbox looks set to become one of the fastest growing digital media companies in the UK.
