In a recent interview from AdTech in New York City, Mike Colella from Adbeat discusses a handful of topics, including his company Adbeat, competitive intelligence, and even gives some mobile tips.
In the interview, Mike explains that, while it’s hard to say where the future of competitive intelligence is headed, mobile is definitely here to stay and offers plenty of opportunity for all kinds of marketers. However, he does warn that there are some things to avoid when it comes to mobile marketing, and even gives his own advice for those looking to get into the burgeoning sector.

Mike describes Adbeat as a “display advertising competitive intelligence” specialist, helping their customers see where display advertisers are spending money online, what creatives they’re using, and what sites they’re buying advertising on.
Adbeat also has mobile data on four different device types, including iPhone, iPad, Android, and Android tablets.
Colella says that looking at Adbeat’s data, there are more branding advertisers currently in the mobile space than direct response advertisers.
Colella offers tips for getting into the mobile industry saying, “get really good with your tracking and know which devices are working for you, how your site performs by device…we found very different performance by device.”
