DirectTrack is set to close down and all the clients are being officially moved to Cake.

DirectTrack has been around forever and was the software of choice for many CPA networks for years. However, more recently LinkTrust , Hasoffers, and Cake have stolen the show. The newer competitors have brought out more features and a much better user experience—DirectTrack was showing its age.

We spoke exclusively to DirectTrack senior management some months ago who said that they were going to focus on their enterprise clients who could fully leverage their technology and the other components they offers. DirectTrack is part of a larger group of company’s that provide a full online marketing packaed for Fortune 100 companies.

We spoke to Cake and a number of DirectTrack clients to confirm the story.

Scott Richter, CEO of, said he had been happy using DirectTrack for years and was sad to see it go, but that Cake would offer new features that would benefit affiliates and provide cost savings. We also asked Richter about the other solutions and he said like many others he evaluates the benefits of all the potential solutions on an ongoing basis.

As an affiliate, which network would you prefer networks to move to?

We asked Bret Grow, CEO at LinkTrust, for a comment on the move, to which he said,

“Our industry changes so quickly. When I first came to performance marketing, DirectTrack was the giant and no one would imagine that they would be on the way out today. We’ve built LinkTrust with unwavering focus on accuracy, innovation, reliability, and top-notch customer support. With that model, I look forward to leading future changes in the industry. As DirectTrack customers look for the best solution, we look forward to showing them why LinkTrust has been at this for 10 years, and why we will be here for many more. If you’re on DirectTrack now, don’t just settle for the default option. Take the opportunity to look at LinkTrust. Send me an email ( and we’ll set up a time. “

We asked Mitch Gordon, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at CAKE for a quote he said,

“We are excited about the opportunity to migrate DirectTrack customers to the CAKE platform with a carefully planned and seamless migration program that makes CAKE the obvious choice. With CAKE’s enterprise technology, high-touch customer support and now strategic partnership we have solidified ourselves as leaders in the performance marketing space on a global scale.”  You can contact Mitch by email (
