Link monetization/optimization company VigLink has released the second installment of their “Advertiser 50” report, this one for the month of October, 2013.
Each month, VigLink’s Advertiser 50 report ranks the top 50 advertisers by their earnings per click (EPC) from highest to lowest based on data gathered and analyzed by VigLink. According to VigLink, “The top advertisers are willing to pay the highest bounties for traffic and sales. For publishers creating content, we strongly recommend linking to these advertisers as appropriate.”
VigLink indexes their top 50 advertisers by using a ranking of 100 as the average EPC—thus, an advertiser receiving an index of 1,000 would suggest that the advertiser’s EPC is 10 times the average EPC, for example. Using this list, publishers can appropriately assess and retool their strategies and campaigns, identify the highest bidding advertisers, and ensure that they are getting the highest possible payout for their links.
During the month of October, VigLink observed “some significant movement in the rankings,” with the UK-based mobile phone retailer The Carphone Warehouse making the most noticeable shift, climbing to the #1 spot from #15, “presumably in response to strong sales of the newly released iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.”
VigLink also saw 5 new entrants into the top 10 in October, as well as 24 new entrants into the top 50, and 9 new advertisers not previously ranked.
