Infogroup is a data and marketing services company that provides its clients with products and services to generate leads, find new customers, and develop direct mail, email, and telemarketing campaigns. The company offers actionable insights to its clients, but when we met with Jeff Mungo at LeadsCon East, we were more interested in finding out exactly how they are able to do that.
“Infogroup has a product called ‘Web Optimizer’ and with the Web Optimizer we’re able to utilize some HTML code on their websites to take the IP address and convert that to a company, and then utilize the database that we manage, called ‘The Sapphire,’ and collect the company information and return back known individuals in segments that the company might be looking for,” he told us. “So for instance, if a company is looking for sales and marketing executives and the website that they manage or maintain collects an IP address, we’ll collect that IP address, convert it into a domain, convert that into a company name, and then take our database and look for the sales and marketing contacts at that company and give that to them as a lead for them to contact.”
