Halloween is right around the corner and if you’re an affiliate, you know exactly what that means—it’s time to start making money from the billion-dollar industry. Every year, the 4th quarter marks exceptional spending that’s directly attributed to the holiday season, and with thousands of vendors offering affiliate programs and great offers, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to cash in on the “Day of the Dead.” From Trick or Treat candy, to costumes and party decorations, there’s no shortage of offers that you could be promoting this Halloween, and we’re here to help! So without further ado, here are five scarily awesome ways to increase your sales and revenue this Halloween!

  1. Promote Affiliate Offers—This is somewhat of a no-brainer, and there are various ways that you can promote and be successful with affiliate offers this Halloween. Any major affiliate network will have tons of offers to choose from but that doesn’t mean you can’t promote offers on your own, too. Whether you’re promoting costume offers through email or Halloween candy through Facebook, find an offer that is perfect for your specific audience and cater to them. Some affiliate programs that we recommend are BuyCostumes, Spirit Halloween, and Fright Catalog.
  2. Create a Content Site—Content sites are a great way to promote offers because you have the freedom to design it and populate it however you want. You can create content about popular costumes, costume reviews, Halloween recipes, festive house or yard decorations—be creative, but make sure that there is an audience for whatever your site is about. A larger audience means more clicks on affiliate links, higher conversions, and more sales.
  3. Use Social Media—Facebook and Pinterest are great avenues for promoting any Halloween-related products during this time of year. People are looking to social media for cool new ways to decorate their houses, find the latest costume craze, and even make some Halloween treats. Make sure to capitalize on these ready-to-buy consumers by placing creative, targeted ads on Facebook, and pinning or re-pinning some unique holiday content on Pinterest. As people are looking to social media more and more for their holiday inspirations, you would be stupid not to use those platforms to promote offers.
  4. Create a Site for Niche Costumes—There are always people that will stop at nothing to have a one of a kind Halloween costume, and if you can find a niche like that, you can drive a lot of sales. Ceating an awesome site specifically for those people and focus only on that one specific interest. For example, Breaking Bad just ended and was a massive TV series that garnered tons of attention and tons of die hard fans. Perhaps a content site dedicated to the main character Walter White could be incredibly successful. For example, describing ways to dress up as him, or providing purchase links to Walter White costumes, or even how to make candy that resembles the fundamental element of the show (Breaking Bad fans know exactly what I’m talking about), could be a great moneymaker.
  5. Dropship Costumes Yourself—This is a much more involved way to make money on Halloween, however, if you manage to do it properly, the profit margins are better than any of the aforementioned options. Rather than promoting affiliate offers and earning 10 or 15%, you can sell costumes yourself, cut out the middleman, and make more money. The only problem is that you will be running an entire operation basically by yourself. You will have to find a wholesaler to work with and create a site for your sales; however, dropshipping will allow you to determine your own terms and prices, and ultimately your own profits. Simply take customer orders, send them to your dropshipper, pay their discounter rate, and they will send the costume to your customer. With lower operating costs and the ability to decide on your own prices, this is one way to start an incredibly lucrative business.

Of course, these are not the only ways to make money from Halloween, but hopefully they will provide you with a jumping off point for this upcoming holiday season. In order to really cash in on the holidays, keep in mind that your success is based on your ability to target consumers and cater to their interests. If you are able to do this and create awesome ads or content sites, there’s no way that you can fail. If you have any other tips or comments, please leave them in the comments below.
