Last week, TheMail made its official debut at Affiliate Summit East, as well as LeadsCon the week prior. Both events served as amazing opportunities to meet, network, and of course, interview new companies from all walks of the performance marketing world. During our week out East, we were able to shoot nearly 100 interviews with companies new and old, and really get a feeling for what’s hot in the digital marketing space right now.

Our first interview (of many to come) is with Chris Tradgett, a Business Development Manager at Linkdex, who is speaking to us about the company’s publisher discovery platform.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Linkdex, it is a platform that provides its users with competitive intelligence and actionable content marketing analytics. According to their site, Linkdex’s “All-in-One” marketing platform combines their “Content Visibility and Best Path products, “which provide users with “everything you need to analyze, plan, create, optimize, measure and prove the value of your content,” while helping users “discover, analyse, map and plan your best path to influencing the people, publications that can supercharge your campaigns.”

When we talked with Chris about Linkdex’s product, he told us that it enables users to see exactly how affiliates are working, as well as what kind of influence they have on site visitors and potential customers.

“We use the largest web map there is, and what we’re able to do is analyze that web map, look at the domains, find out how people are linking in, and what they’re linking in with, and through doing that, find the merchant link and the affiliate link and you can see a lot of granularity about where the link is, on what page, how they’re constructing the page, and whether they’re using images or video, or any other kind of device,” he explained. “And from that we can see how affiliates are working, we can also see what kind of influence they have—so what kind of websites, are they likely to figure well in Google, so are they likely to drive much traffic for you as a merchant, or as a network.”
