Affiliate Summit East is right around the corner and that means one thing—the Affiliate Ball is on the horizon, too. We’ve already published one post with links to party tickets, and also broke the news that the headlining performer will be Grammy Award-winning hip-hop artist Busta Rhymes, so when we ran into party organizer Darren Blatt at our Las Vegas Performance Marketing Meetup earlier this week, we wanted to get the latest scoop on what’s to come.

One of the main differences for the Affiliate Ball 2013 is the aptly titled “VIP hour,” which will act as a substitute for VIP tables, and offer party-goers special perks that are exclusive to VIP attendees. When asked for details about the party, Darren told us,

“We’re expecting about 1,500 people with the ‘in-and-out factor.’ It’s a little more intimate for my party because usually we do like 2,000 or 3,000 people, so get their early,” Darren urged. “We’re doing a VIP hour this time, by the way. So normally what we do is a VIP area, but the venues in Philly are kind of small and they don’t really have big VIP areas, so we’re going to do a VIP hour. So you get there between 9 and 10 and we’re going to do a VIP hour for like 500 people—that’s really the way to do it right.”
